ESPN Sports Center's Top 10 Plays has been a regular part of programming on EPSN since its creation in 1979. It has featured highlights from all kinds of sports--football, baseball, hockey, NASCAR, tennis and racquetball--but until this year, it never showed pickleball. All of that changed in October 2022.

The first ever pickleball play was featured in the Top 10 Plays of the Day segment and it had #TeamVulcan Pro Jay Devilliers making a killer ATP. The second pickleball play to reach ESPN's Top 10 Plays of the Day was an impressive behind the back shot, also by Team Vulcan Pro Jay Devilliers! There was barely a month between these two plays being featured on ESPN, and the sport hopes it is only the beginning of these impressive athletes being showcased on the national network.

Pickleball Pro Jay Devililers transitioned from tennis to pickleball in 2019. With his impressive athletic skills, reach, and dedication, he has made a big splash on the professional pickleball tour. In 2022 alone he won two gold medals, nine silver medals, and ten bronze medals--in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles! Off the court, Devilliers is a well-liked, approachable person, which makes him ideal for being featured on sports networks in the future. Be on the lookout for more from him, and from ESPN, in 2023!
